Nomination Procedure: The entire committee will accept nominations for induction from any source. Inductees will represent all sports and will represent a balance of all eras of Somerville Athletics. Potential candidates will presented to the entire committee, listing all nominees deemed worthy of consideration for entry into the Athletic Hall of Fame. The nomination committee will submit a written ballot of potential inductees. Each year the committee shall will decide on the number of inductees per category to be voted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, not to exceed a total of 15 in all.
Nomination Criteria:
Athletes must have attended Somerville High School and received a Letter in a varsity sport.
Nominees must be out of Somerville High School for at least 5 years.
All sports shall be considered on an equal basis.
Athletes who have plated for Somerville High School and have excelled in prep school, college, semi-pro or professional sports also will be considered.
Coaches, Athletic Directors/Administrators and other contributors and athletes may be eligible for consideration.
All nominees will be asked to complete a questionnaire of past performance and any honors received while at Somerville High School, college, and/or professionally.
The sponsor of each potentially nominee shall supply the committee with appropriate documentation of the nominee's past performance and any honors received while at Somerville High School or afterward.
Somerville High School Teams must have attained a special level of acheivement or performed at such a level so as to distinguish themselves in school history. Selection in any award year is discretionary.
